Lucinda Luna Elizarraras
Sociology major; Skidmore College Class of 2026
About me…
Hello! My name is Lucinda Elizarraras and I am a senior Sociology major at Skidmore College. I was born and raised in Humboldt county, CA, then lived my teenage years in Dripping Springs, TX before moving back to our hometown in California in 2024. Up until Spring of 2025, I was a biology major looking to attend vet school, but realized after much trial and error that that wasn’t the path for me — sociology was.
Since switching majors, I have gained an enormous passion towards the underserved and disabled communities. Working over the summer of 2025 at a nursing home, I gained what felt like years of experience in just 3 months. I have now become more involved in my community both here at Skidmore College and in California, and strive to help those in need — or those who need just a little bit more love.
What I’ve learned…
I believe my path has made me more experienced as a person so I am able to connect with a more diverse range of people, and that’s what matters to me
Moving Forward…
Post graduation, I plan to move back to California and work alongside one of the many interests I have, including: Senior care, Childcare, Housing, addiction support, crisis support, or women’s reproductive support
